A refuge and guard tower, a customs post and semaphore, born in the 17th century from the salt tax, at the mouth of the Rhône, it now stands seven kilometres from the sea. The painter here takes up the range of blacks and whites, thus framing, with the tower of Roquemaure, his research on the seven colours. The very contrasting tones, the grey of nature, the deep black of the skies and the whiteness of the tower, make it more present. A place of light, culture, knowledge...
