The mind interprets. The artist is a demiurge. Photography invented the world in grey. The painter creates worlds according to his choice of colors. The painting is not a copy of reality: it is first and foremost an exploration of the pictorial possibilities of colours. The rainbow offered him seven. Hence seven bodies of water, faces of the Petit Rhône, at once different, unique, and very similar in their symbolic approaches: exploring the potentialities of a single colour.
