Path of Light

Path of Light

The Path of Light is inspired by a 13th century Chemin de Vie sculpted for the frieze of the rood screen of the cathedral of Saint Étienne de Bourges. 14 polychrome fragments (originally) with a dimension of about 1 x 1 metre.

In the 14 paintings I fully respected the sculptures, on the other hand I used rectangular supports which gave me on each side of the subject two 'tympanums' which, by putting the canvases side by side, formed a background setting starting from the city to go up to Golgotha to return to the level of the city.
